As for our second interview, it will be with none other then Brother Jawaad Ahmad Khan. Brother Jawaad had put together the Jannah Network trailer last year and is involved in various efforts. We will ask him to spill his secrets to productivity and activity in his scheduled interview on March 13th, 2011! Be sure to tune in for the first Jannah Radio show this year! (We know we’re behind schedule on the shows, but better late than never!)

Hailing from the sunny south Florida, USA, Jawaad is a student at Broward College currently studying Business Administration. Along with this, he is an active online content creator, writing on his own personal blog, creating videos from his YouTube channel and for other organizations, as well as running several other blogs. He is an active member of his local youth group, FAYM, and in the local Muslim community. He hopes to use whatever talents Allah blesses him with to produce and encourage others to produce creative Islamic content to benefit both Muslims and the wider society.

Guest speaker Introduction/Topic Synopsis:

Brother Karim Hakim is the head of the Young Adults Group at Islamic Center of San Gabriel Valley in Los Angeles County, where he works and studies under Shaykh Abul Haitham. He is also a student at Darul Ilm madrassa in Southern California. Over the years he has been blessed to study under various local scholars and His independent Islamic studies include Qiraat, Uloom Al-Qur’anic, Tafsir, Ahadith, Fiqh and Usul-Al-Fiqh, Seerah, and a MAJOR focus on Islamic History, which is partially what he is here to discuss today, inshaAllah. By profession Brother Karim is an Environmental Specialist, he recently finished research on groundwater quality reporting methods for major areas of in the United States. Please, don’t ask him about water, he might scare you…

Brother Karim is also a Mixed Martial Artist, who previously taught brothers at a local Masjid. He regularly does youth mentoring and volunteer work, Islamic event coordination, is pursuing his Masters degree in the Environmental field, and is currently working on a curriculum for an Islamic History class, which he hopes to begin soon, inshaAllah. He also sleeps when he gets a chance.

Brother Karim does a great deal with at-risk youth, both Muslim and non-Muslim, and himself, came from a troubled past. He is here today to talk about issues involving young Muslims being corrupted by un-Islamic influences and the importance of learning our Islamic History and learning about what he refers to as: MUSLIM SUPERHEROES!!
